Zhovkva reacted to Merz's doubts about joining the EU by 2034.

Deputy Head of the President's Office Ihor Zhovkva stated that Ukraine is moving towards joining the European Union at a record pace. This was in response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's words about the possibility of Ukraine's membership by 2034.
Zhovkva's reaction to Merz's statement was truly swift. 'Ukraine is moving towards joining the EU at a record pace', remarked the Deputy Head of the OP. He explained that Ukraine is actively working on opening six negotiation clusters to commence membership negotiations with the European Union, and has already managed to open three of them.
'A certain country in the European Union is holding back the opening of these clusters due to the need for unanimous approval by all countries. Ukraine is cooperating with member states and the USA in this regard', Zhovkva clarified.
Recently, Friedrich Merz expressed doubts about the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU by 2034 due to various issues, while Hungarian officials also voiced concerns regarding financial costs and strengthening Europe's security.
Zhovkva's positive statements regarding Ukraine's rapid accession to the EU highlight the country's activity in this direction and work on negotiation clusters with the European Union. It should be noted that some countries have their doubts about this process, but Ukraine continues to work actively to achieve its goal.Read also
