Apple wants to abandon SIM cards in the iPhone: new details.

Apple intends to remove the slot for physical SIM cards from its future smartphones by 2025. This was reported by the publication Milled. Instead, users will be able to use eSIM.
The company confirms that electronic SIM cards are more secure, as they cannot be removed and transferred to another phone. Moreover, smartphones with eSIM can support up to 8 different plans simultaneously.
New iPhone with electronic SIM cards
According to rumors, Apple is developing a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, which will become the thinnest in the company's history. It is expected that these smartphones will not have space for physical SIM cards, so users will only be able to use eSIM to connect to a mobile operator.
Journalists did not specify exactly in which countries Apple plans to eliminate physical SIM cards. Currently, in the USA, the company already sells smartphones that support only eSIM, but in other regions, traditional SIM cards continue to be used.
Overall, Apple is confidently transitioning to the use of electronic SIM cards for its devices, as they provide greater security and convenience for users.
