He was a step away from death. It became known who played an important role in saving the Pope.

According to the head of the Pope's medical team, Francis, Sergio Alfieri, the pontiff was in the hospital for 38 days due to double pneumonia, and his condition is now critical. Doctors even considered the possibility of stopping treatment, but fortunately, his condition has improved. During the treatment, the Pope had four critical respiratory crises that were difficult to manage.
Thanks to the Pope's personal nurse, Massimiliano Strappetti, who inspired the medical team to fight, the treatment was successful, although doctors risked damaging the organs of the Pope. His body responded positively to therapy, and the infection in his lungs began to disappear. The Pope has already been discharged from the hospital, but he still needs to undergo a two-month rehabilitation course.
It is worth noting that before hospitalization, Pope Francis was in good physical condition. But after oxygen therapy, he experienced breathing problems and must relearn how to speak. His appearance on the hospital balcony was accompanied by loud applause from thousands of believers.
