Ukrainian families with low income levels are entitled to receive compensation from the state for utility payments.
This was stated by Oleh Ustenko, former economic advisor to the President of Ukraine, on the air of "Kyiv-24".
According to him, if total utility payments exceed 20% of household income, then the state should subsidize everything that exceeds this level.
Ustenko explained that if two people live in a household and each earns 10,000 hryvnias per month, while the total utility payments are 5,000 hryvnias, the state should assist them.
"These people can pay only 20% of their total income for utility bills, and everything else should be covered by the state. So in our case, 20% of 20,000 is four thousand. And if the utility payments amount to five thousand, then the state should pay this one thousand hryvnia difference," Ustenko noted.
