The Economist Assessed How Much One Mobilized Costs for Ukraine's Budget.

The procedure for booking conscripts has been temporarily halted. An audit of the decisions made regarding economic booking is planned until November 15, 2024.
Oleh Pendzin, executive director of the Economic Discussion Club, explained in an interview with Channel 24 that Ukraine's economic complex consists of enterprises where people work. This helps fill the country's budget with money.
According to Pendzin, a person who is booked has a formal guarantee that they will not be mobilized during the booking period. Employers plan their activities based on such employees.
"If a person is mobilized, their workplace remains vacant. It will be difficult to replace such an employee immediately, as Time is needed for training and acquiring qualifications in this field," he said.
Stopping the booking may lead to some enterprises ceasing their activities.
Pendzin noted that Ukraine's economic complex must continue to work because without it there won't be funds for the salaries and maintenance of soldiers who are already mobilized.
"One mobilized soldier costs one million three hundred thousand hryvnias per year for the Ukrainian budget. This does not include donations, partner assistance, and military-technical supplies," noted the economist.
According to him, Ukraine's economy will be able to continue working only when the necessary people to maintain the state's financial capabilities are booked. A clear policy regarding enterprises critical to the security and defense of Ukraine needs to be formed.
