Work continues in Kyiv region to increase energy independence. Six cogeneration plants with a total capacity of 4.33 MW are being installed in Brovary, Bila Tserkva, Fastiv, and Bucha districts.
This was reported by the Department of Housing and Communal Services and Energy Efficiency of Kyiv region. Specialists are engaged in construction work to prepare sites where these plants will be installed. They will serve as an additional source of electricity supply and will produce heat for various consumers.
With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), cogeneration units will be provided. As part of this cooperation, the installation of nine cogeneration units in Kyiv region is planned.
Oleg Popenko, head of the Association of Utility Consumers, condemned the idea of spending money on cogeneration units and proposed a sensible alternative.
