Ford to revive popular models in Ukraine for Europe.

Ford is preparing a significant turn in its European strategy, planning to revive the legendary Fiesta and Focus models. These cars, which were previously discontinued, will return to the market but already adapted to modern realities, particularly the trend of electrification.
This was reported by Automobilwoche.
Preconditions for Return
The decision to revive the Focus and Fiesta was unexpected for many. It was previously believed that the current generation of the Focus would be the last, as production in Europe was planned to cease by the end of 2025, and sales of the model in the US stopped back in 2018. However, steady demand and numerous requests from European dealers forced Ford to rethink its plans.
A similar fate befell the Fiesta. Its production in the US stopped after 2019, and in Europe in 2023, yielding to crossovers and electric cars. However, Ford is considering the return of the Fiesta, as the compact city car segment remains popular despite the steadily growing popularity of crossovers.
Cooperation with Volkswagen
The head of Ford's Customer Service Division (FCSD) for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Christoph Herr, confirmed that the company has already invested in the development of new generations of models that will include both hybrid and fully electric versions.
An important part of this strategy is cooperation with Volkswagen: the new Fiesta and Focus will likely be based on a scaled-down version of Volkswagen's MEB platform, which already underpins the new European Ford Explorer and Capri.
Using MEB will enable Ford to quickly and effectively bring competitive electric cars to the mass market.
Production Timelines
Specific dates for the return of the Focus and Fiesta have not yet been announced, but it is expected that the new models will appear after 2027.
Production of the future models will likely be concentrated in Europe, which will help the company reduce logistics costs and respond more quickly to the needs of the local market, especially amid increasing competition from Chinese brands and European startups in the budget electric vehicle segment.
After the production of the legendary Fiesta and Focus models was halted, Ford has decided to return to these vehicles during the electric stimulation of the market. The new versions of these popular cars will be adapted to modern technological requirements, aligning with the trend of electrification and hoping for success in the future, especially in the context of competition with Chinese manufacturers and European startups.Read also
