Doctor Mario Alejandro Shiter stated in court about the death of Diego Maradona that the choice of home treatment in the case of the former Argentine national football player was a mistake. Maradona passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60 due to cardiac arrest. Doctors claim that this occurred due to the provision of incomplete medical assistance. Shiter himself testified in court, confirming that he did not have the authority to make decisions regarding Maradona's treatment. He also noted that it was necessary to refer to a rehabilitation clinic instead of continuing treatment at home. Eight doctors are on trial, facing charges of murdering Maradona. The prosecutor accused them of lying and providing inadequate treatment. He stated that the medical team and responsible parties should bear joint responsibility for Maradona's death.
