A bullet mold from the Cossack times was found in the Poltava region in December 2024 during explorations.
This is a rare artifact - an iron hinged bullet mold that allowed for the quick casting of lead bullets.
Bullet molds are usually found during the investigation of Cossack battle sites.
Ten such bullet molds were found near Berestetchko.
Archaeologist Igor Sveshnikov described the process of bullet production.
The mold was filled with molten lead through a hole, and then dipped into cold water. The bullets had a 'casting tail', which needed to be trimmed to obtain correctly shaped bullets.
Cossacks used various items made of low-melting materials for bullet production.
Found fragments of lead spoons, plates, jars, and window frames testify to this.
This iron bullet mold in Kotelva is a rare artifact that will enrich the funds of the Historical and Cultural Reserve.
Unfortunately, stolen archaeological artifacts have appeared on the international black market.
Stone monuments have also been evacuated from Donetsk to Dnipro.
Customs officers seized three archaeological artifacts that were heading to the USA from a Kyiv international mail shipment.
The state received back jewelry, a collection of antiquities, and paintings that were found in Viktor Medvedchuk's possession.
These artifacts and artworks are worth millions of dollars.
