Ukrainian singer Teslenko withdrew from the National Selection for Eurovision-2025. This was reported by Suspilne.

He had the opportunity to advance to the finals thanks to the votes of viewers in the 'Diia' app, but requested to be removed from the list of candidates.

'The artist's management contacted Suspilne with a request to exclude the candidacy of performer Teslenko and terminate his further participation in the National Selection-2025. Suspilne agreed to the artist's request and terminated the contract for participation', the statement said.

Teslenko explained that he withdrew from the competition to avoid accusations of exploiting a sensitive topic.

Now 10 performers will compete for the place of the tenth finalist of the National Selection-2025: Brykulets, Enleo, Fiinka, Grisana, Mon Fia, Ranrawi, Starykova Hrystyna, Yagody, Muayad, and 'Listen to Sasha'.

Voting for them will be available in the 'Diia' app during the online voting.

Let us remind you that the organizers of the national selection for Eurovision-2025 announced the names of the nine finalists of the competition. Additionally, in January 2025, they will conduct a ranking online voting in the 'Diia' app among the longlist participants who did not advance to the finals.

By the way, new rules have been introduced for the Eurovision-2025 music competition. The 69th song contest, which will take place in the Swedish city of Basel, will be conducted under updated requirements. Participants and media representatives must comply with the Code of Conduct, violations of which may result in the loss of accreditation rights.
