Unclaimed pension after death: who and how can receive it.

Journalist Sergey Korobkin talked about payments that relatives can receive in case of the death of a pensioner or an insured person in Ukraine.
According to Korobkin, in case of the death of a pensioner, his relatives can receive funeral assistance. If it is a civilian pensioner, the payment amounts to two monthly pensions that he was receiving at the Time of death.
Regarding military pensioners, the expert notes: if it was a military pensioner, his relatives can receive assistance in the amount of three monthly pensions, but not less than five times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons. Today, such a subsistence minimum is 3,028 UAH. Therefore, the guaranteed payment for the funeral of a military pensioner is 15,140 UAH.
Korobkin explains the procedure for receiving assistance: to receive funeral assistance, it is necessary to contact the Pension Fund, provide identity documents, in particular a passport, an application for the payment of the assistance itself, a death certificate and an extract from the state register of civil status acts of citizens about the death to receive the corresponding assistance.
The journalist also talks about the possibility of receiving unreceived pension: "The amount of the pension that belonged to the pensioner and remained unreceived due to his death is paid up to and including the month of death to members of his family who lived together with the pensioner on the day of his death." He adds that it is necessary to apply for such assistance within 6 months from the opening of the inheritance.
In addition, Korobkin informs about funeral assistance for an insured person: assistance can be paid if the deceased was an employee or if these are his relatives - wife, husband, children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren who have not reached 18 years of age and have no other relatives who could take care of them. In this case, the funeral assistance amounts to 4,100 UAH.
