Pistorius warned the US against premature concessions to Russia.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius expressed his concern regarding US concessions to Russia ahead of negotiations on Ukraine, particularly regarding Ukraine's NATO membership and potential territorial losses.
He stated that if Putin truly intends to conduct peace negotiations - although there are doubts about this - he must demonstrate this by halting attacks on Ukraine.
Pistorius emphasized that Europe must be involved in any negotiations, especially if Trump expects European allies to play a peacemaking role, as proposed by Defense Minister Pete Hegset.
According to the German defense minister, a quick peace agreement will not resolve all the issues related to Russia's aggressive policy, and he warns that Europeans cannot just sit back and relax.
Pistorius warns against excessive euphoria regarding the announcement of peace negotiations as Putin continues to provoke Europe and remains a threat.
The defense minister stressed that considering the geopolitical situation that Hegset spoke about, he particularly warns against the withdrawal of American presence from Europe.
