Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, visited the most tense directions of the Eastern front, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He visited the Vuhledar, Kurakhiv, and Pokrovsky directions.
Main objective of the visit – enemy destruction
The main objective of the visit was to ensure the effective destruction of enemy firepower, weaponry, and personnel, according to the report.
Tense situation on the front
Over the past day, the situation on the front remains tense, it is informed. The enemy carried out 66 attacks in a day and continues attempts to advance deeper into the territory of Ukraine. The highest activity is observed in the Pokrovsky direction, where a third of all attacks took place.
Settlements in the border areas of the Sumy region were subjected to airstrikes, and settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were shelled.
Clashes in different directions
The enemy attacked Ukrainian positions in the Kharkiv direction near Tykhyi. Four attacks were repelled in the Kupiansk direction. The Lyman direction suffered eight enemy attacks, four of which are ongoing.
The most clashes occurred in the Pokrovsky direction – 24 attempts to breach Ukrainian positions. Most of the battles took place near Selydove and Mykolaivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks, the rest are ongoing.
Fierce fighting is also ongoing in the Kurakhiv and Vremiv directions. The enemy is using assault aviation in the Orikhiv direction. There was one failed attempt to assault Ukrainian positions in the Prydniprovsky direction.
