Situation in Pokrovsk. Authorities have started forced evacuation: 24 children remain in the city.

About 11,500 residents remain in the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, including 24 children. This was reported by the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, Serhiy Dobriak. He also assured that all children will be evacuated.

«I clearly remember the date – August 9, 2024. On that day, the front line shifted sharply towards the city. At that Time, the distance to enemy troops was 10 kilometers. As of that date, 48,000 people lived in Pokrovsk, including 6,500 children. After that, we, as authorities, began the forced evacuation. Currently, as I said, there are 11,500 residents left in the city, of which 24 are children. We will definitely evacuate all children,» Dobriak said.

According to the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, there are 550 apartment buildings and 21,000 private houses in the city. In peacetime, 60,000 people lived in them, now only 11,500 remain. There are so-called «waiters,» mostly elderly people, some of whom have relatives in Russia.

«Regarding collaborators and informants, over the past three years, security services have uncovered several dozen residents of our community. However, the majority of the population are patriots who, for one reason or another, do not want to leave their home city and believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,» Dobriak added.

Despite the enemy being at the gates, Pokrovsk continues to operate and extract coal. The enemy shells industrial facilities, as the distance from the front line to Pokrovsk is 5 kilometers, and to the industrial enterprises - 14 km.

Russian troops continue to move south of Pokrovsk, having crossed the Solona River. They are located 14 km from the village of Udachne, where the Pokrovsk Mining Administration is located, an important facility for the metallurgy industry. By the way, the head of the special staff for Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense, Christian Freuding, stated that Pokrovsk may be lost at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
