Gas and electricity tariffs from August 1 - how much Ukrainians will pay.

In August, Ukrainians will pay for gas and electricity the same as now. The price per cubic meter of gas will be UAH 7.96, and for one kilowatt-hour of electricity - UAH 4.32. These tariffs have already been officially approved and will remain in effect for the entire month.
The editorial team of Novyny.LIVE explains how much Ukrainians will pay for electricity and gas supply in August 2025.
What the tariffs will be for household consumers in August
For the majority of consumers - 98%, who receive gas from the 'Naftogaz' company, the price of gas will not change. This is due to the moratorium on raising gas prices, which will last until next year.
As for electricity, the tariff will also remain at the level of UAH 4.32 per kWh. No increase in electricity tariffs is planned at least until October 2025.
Currently, taking into account the average consumption - about 165 kWh per month, an average family of three will spend approximately UAH 713 for electricity.
Consumers with two-zone meters can save money: at night (from 11 PM to 7 AM), the tariff is halved to UAH 2.16 per kWh. If a third of the electricity is used at night, the bill may be lower - around UAH 606.
When and by how much electricity costs may rise
According to experts' forecasts, electricity tariffs will rise to the level of other European countries. However, the government plans to improve targeted assistance for those who really need it.
'There will be an increase to UAH 6. It may be done in two stages. When exactly this will happen is unclear, as there is no specific date,'- said Andriy Zakrevskyi, Deputy Director of the Association of Energy and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
The expert predicts that the increase may take place in two stages, but when exactly is still unknown. Most likely, the tariff increase will occur closer to 2026.
Previously, we reported that in Ukraine certain categories of citizens have the right to a discount when paying for housing and communal services. The size of the benefits varies depending on the person's status - it can be 25%, 50%, or even a full exemption from payment.
We also mentioned that each month Ukrainians report data on the amount of gas consumed - this is a usual practice for most users. However, there are situations when it is necessary to urgently send a photo of the meter to the supplier.
In August, the prices for gas and electricity for Ukrainians will not change; they will remain at the previous level. Tariffs remain stable due to the moratorium on price increases. An increase in electricity tariffs is projected in the future, but the government plans to enhance targeted assistance for those in genuine need.Read also
