Warm or strong frosts: forecasters told what weather Ukrainians should expect in January 2025.


The press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reports the weather forecast for January 2025. According to meteorologists, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be between -0 to -3 degrees Celsius throughout Ukraine. However, in some regions such as Transcarpathia, Crimea, Odesa, and Kherson regions, temperatures of 0 to 2 degrees above zero are forecasted, which is 1.5 to 2 degrees above the norm.
The expected monthly amount of precipitation is within the norm - 32-79 mm. Regarding air temperature, in January it is expected to average from -0 to -6 degrees Celsius, while in Crimea, the temperatures will range from -1 degree Celsius to 4 degrees above zero.
'The absolute minimum air temperature is forecasted to be between -23 to -37 degrees Celsius, in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Sumy regions and in the Carpathians locally 38-39 degrees Celsius, in Cherkasy and Luhansk regions locally 40-41.9 degrees below zero, in the south of Crimea 13-22 degrees below zero,' - stated in the forecast.
The highest air temperature, according to the forecast, will reach 10-18 degrees above zero in most regions of the country. In Crimea, it will reach 21 degrees above zero, and in Chernihiv, Sumy regions and in the highlands of the Carpathians - 8-9 degrees above zero.
'The average monthly precipitation is expected to be 26-55 mm, in Transcarpathia up to 89 mm, in the Carpathians and in the south of Crimea up to 125 mm,' - added the Hydrometeorological Center.
It is also worth mentioning that Ukraine plans to increase fines for violations of the curfew.
