Trump Plans to Attend the Funeral of Pope Francis
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he and his wife Melania plan to attend the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome. He made this statement in his post on the social network Truth Social.
Earlier, American media had reported on the possibility of the president's trip to the farewell ceremony for Francis.
President Trump also reacted to the death of Pope Francis and issued several orders in honor of his memory. He ordered the flag of the United States to be lowered at the White House, state buildings, military posts, naval stations, and naval vessels of the federal government until sunset on the day of the funeral.
In honor of the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, ..., I order that the flag of the United States be lowered at the White House, as well as at all state buildings and territories, at all military posts and naval stations, and at all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States, including their territories and possessions, until sunset on the day of the funeral
Cardinal Kevin Farrell stated that much of Pope Francis' life was dedicated to serving the Lord and His Church. He taught people to live with faithfulness, courage, and boundless love for the poorest and most vulnerable. The cardinal entrusts his soul to the boundless merciful love of the Triune God.
It should be noted that Pope Francis died on April 21 from bilateral pneumonia.
