In Britain, a woman worked as a psychiatrist for over two decades with a fake diploma.

In the United Kingdom, one of the largest medical frauds was uncovered - Julia Alemi posed as a psychiatrist in the public health system for two decades, using a fake diploma. She is originally from Iran but moved to New Zealand in the 1990s, where she started studying at a medical school. However, she only completed the first year, forging her diploma and confirmation letter.
The woman successfully worked as a psychiatrist for twenty years with a fake document, amassing over 1.2 million pounds, until the case was exposed. The court found her guilty of forgery and sentenced her to seven years in prison, as well as requiring her to pay a large sum to the health care system.
This story serves as a striking example of violations of medical ethics and patient safety. It highlights the need for improving the verification systems for medical practitioners' qualifications to avoid similar cases in the future.
As a result of the revelation of the medical fraud, which lasted for many years, questions arise about the effectiveness of controls over the qualifications of medical professionals and the necessity to strengthen the verification system to prevent similar incidents in the future.
