Poland has intensified preparations for the winter reception of refugees from Ukraine.

Lublin Voivodeship in Poland has confirmed its readiness to possibly receive a new wave of refugees from Ukraine.
This was announced by the Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin, Oleh Kuts, in a commentary for Radio Liberty.
According to the diplomat, coordination meetings on assisting Ukrainian citizens are regularly held in the region. Although there are currently no serious signals of a possible mass influx of refugees, local authorities have intensified preparations ahead of the winter period.
"A high level of readiness is ensured in the Lublin Voivodeship. A register of several hundred volunteers with experience in helping Ukrainian citizens since 2022 has been created. A clear plan for the distribution of duties between volunteers at the border and the station has been developed," noted Oleh Kuts.
The coordination group includes representatives from local authorities, non-governmental organizations, volunteer communities, the Ukrainian diplomatic corps, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
According to the words of the voivode of the Lublin Voivodeship, Krzysztof Komorski, reception centers for refugees can be deployed within 24-48 hours if necessary.
The potential new wave of refugees will depend on several factors, including the intensity of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the general situation on the front.
It is also reminded that Poland has recorded a mass increase in applications from Ukrainians for international protection.
