The price of beets has sharply increased in Ukraine: farmers explained the rapid rise in prices.

The prices for table beets in Ukraine have significantly risen, announced the EastFruit project. The lack of quality beets in the market and the reduction of its stocks have led to the price increase of this root vegetable. Demand for it is growing, while producers are not ready to sell it at low prices. Currently, Ukrainian farmers offer table beets for 17-22 UAH/kg, which is 10% more expensive than a week ago.
Wholesale companies are facing difficulties in finding enough volumes of quality beets, so demand exceeds supply. This allows farmers to raise prices. Currently, beets in Ukraine are 51% more expensive than last year, and producers plan to increase prices even more.
Prices for cabbage, potatoes, and carrots have also risen earlier.
