Control over the Content of Job Advertisements

Starting from May 8, 2025, the State Consumer Service begins a new area of work - monitoring the content of job advertisements. The changes come into effect due to a law in Ukraine that allows the State Consumer Service to monitor compliance with advertising legislation in the employment sector.

All advertisements from employers and recruitment agencies are subject to monitoring. The main focus is on identifying discriminatory phrases and signs of manipulation that may violate the law.

'Employers should already review their advertisements and bring them in line with the requirements of the law. This will not only help avoid fines but also preserve the trust of candidates. If you notice discriminatory or misleading job offers - record the violation and contact the regional offices of the State Consumer Service. The labor market should operate under transparent and equal rules for all' - emphasized Deputy Head of the State Consumer Service Andriy Kreitor.

Control over advertising is not only about compliance with the law but primarily about protecting every citizen's right to equal access to employment. This approach aligns with European standards: combating discrimination, transparency, and fair competition are the foundations of a modern labor market.

Analysis

The introduction of control over the content of job advertisements is an important step in curbing discrimination and manipulation in the labor market. This will contribute to creating transparent and equal conditions for all workers, which is a crucial aspect of the development of modern society.
