Payments to families of fallen soldiers - when no one receives money.

Families of deceased servicemen in Ukraine receive a one-Time financial assistance from the state amounting to 15 million UAH. However, under certain circumstances, the payment may be refused.
A one-time financial assistance of 15 million UAH is provided for the families of servicemen who died while performing their duties to protect the Motherland according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 168 dated February 28, 2022.
The right to receive one-time financial assistance is held by children, widows or widowers, parents, grandchildren, as well as cohabiting persons.
The funds in the amount of 15 million UAH are distributed among them in equal shares and are paid out in installments over a period of 40 months.
Which relatives have the right to receive payments
Reasons for refusal to provide one-time financial assistance were named by experts from the Inseinin Law Firm. None of the relatives will receive 15 million UAH if the death of the serviceman occurred due to other reasons not related to the defense of the Motherland, if the relatives are citizens of Russia, if the applicant did not apply for payment on time or if the documents are incomplete.
Under what circumstances will no one receive 15 million UAH
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has made changes to the law 'On social and legal protection of servicemen and their families', concerning the procedure for receiving assistance in case of death of a soldier in captivity. It has also clarified the conditions for payments in case of injuries during service.
Member of Parliament Taras Tarasenko noted that the families of those who died in captivity also deserve assistance, just like the relatives of those killed in battle, and this issue should be resolved at the state level.
One-time financial assistance will also be provided in case a serviceman sustains injuries, contusions, or trauma, if this leads to partial loss of capacity to work.
