With allowances and additional payments: Ukrainians were told what pension veterans can expect in 2025.

Ukrainians were informed about the size and process of obtaining pensions for combat veterans in 2025. According to the law, combat veterans and career military personnel receive pensions based on their work experience or years of service. The minimum pension for combat veterans in 2025 is 5,528 hryvnias.
The pension amount depends on the position, rank, and disability status of the combat veteran. To receive a pension, men need to have at least 25 years of work experience, while women need at least 20 years.
For career military personnel, the minimum years of service required to receive a pension is 25 for men and 20 for women, but it can be less if there is a sufficiently high insurance record.
The pension calculation system depends on the length of service. For complete years of service, the pension is 65% of payments, plus an additional 3% for each year beyond the norm, with a maximum cap of 70%. If there are not full years of service but there is a sufficient insurance record, the rate is 50% with an additional 1% for each year, also with a cap of 70%.
Additionally, a combat veteran's pension may increase under special conditions of service or work at restricted facilities.
In addition to pensions, combat veterans have the right to additional allowances, such as 25% of the minimum subsistence level and 40 hryvnias for living expenses, as well as a top-up to the minimum pension amount if it is less than 5,528 hryvnias.
To obtain a pension or have it recalculated, combat veterans need to submit an application along with the necessary documents to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Currently, Ukrainians who are abroad may end up without a pension.
