Ask them: Trump commented on the Russian missile attack on Sumy.

US President Donald Trump commented on the Russian strike on the city of Sumy, resulting in casualties. In response to a journalist's question, Trump described the incident as 'horrific', but added an ambiguous phrase: 'I was told they made a mistake.'
They made a mistake. I believe so. Listen, ask them.
Meanwhile, Trump expanded his assessment to the entire conflict, calling it an overall 'horrible thing'. He stated that he saw the very beginning of the full-scale invasion as 'an abuse of power.'
The President once again emphasized that, in his opinion, the war could have been avoided if he had remained in office. 'This country would never have allowed this war to start if I were president. This war is a disgrace,' Trump said.
He expressed deep sorrow over the immense human losses: 'Millions of people died who should have been living.' Trump also mentioned the extensive destruction of Ukrainian cities and cultural heritage, emphasizing the destruction of 'chapels, churches' which, he claimed, were 'among the most beautiful in the world', but are now 'ruined and scattered into a million pieces.'
When asked why the end of the war in Ukraine is being delayed, Trump noted: 'This is a war with deep roots.' Summarizing his thoughts on the conflict, he returned once again to the human tragedy: 'But the most important thing is millions of people died who should not have died.'
We also remind you that Zelensky called on Trump to visit Ukraine before making decisions.
