In 2022, Ukraine was actively preparing to defend against Russia, but now the mood is changing as many people have already joined the army and the population is fatigued.

However, threats to the country once again unite people and they are preparing for mobilization. This was stated by politician, public activist, and now serviceman and aerial reconnaissance officer Ihor Lutsenko in his interview for 'Glavkom'.

Ihor Lutsenko notes that one of the events that could unite the people is a possible offensive from Belarus on Kyiv. He claims that such an offensive could happen this fall.

Lutsenko also points out that when Russian columns begin to penetrate the capital, Ukraine will quickly mobilize for war once again.

'Earlier, we did not need many papers to do something. Now everything revolves around bureaucracy. After four years of war, I need papers, whereas in 2022, that was not the case and it should not be the case,' says Ihor Lutsenko.

He hopes that adequate people will be appointed to appropriate positions in the army, and improvements will begin. However, he believes that the crisis must reach a critical point for the authorities to start acting.

'I see that we are moving towards some critical point. Either something will change in the world, or a critical situation will arise in our country. Then the elite will be forced to change their approach. Then there will be many interesting things, such as accountability of commanders and law enforcement agencies,' he notes.

Regarding the punishment of draft dodgers, Ihor Lutsenko emphasizes that they are almost never punished. Less than 1% of them receive real punishment. He believes that this situation is unacceptable and appropriate measures need to be taken.

He also states that punishment is necessary for those who dishonor the military and go AWOL. He points out the need to punish commanders of units from which soldiers leave without permission.

'There are cases where entire platoons go AWOL,' the specialist notes.

In addition, Ihor Lutsenko speaks about the important role of drones in the war. He claims that about 80% of enemy positions and equipment hits are carried out with drones. He calls modern warfare a drone war due to the extensive use of this weapon with high technical quality.

This article was based on an interview with Ihor Lutsenko, who expressed his opinion on the situation during the Russian-Ukrainian war. It also included information about the scandal in the Verkhovna Rada regarding the extension of martial law.
