PrivatBank to Reduce Limits on Card Transfers: How Amounts Will Change from June 1.

PrivatBank Will Reduce the Limit on Transfers Between Individuals' Accounts
Starting from June 1, 2025, PrivatBank will set new restrictions on transfers between individuals' accounts. The maximum amount of such transfers during the month will be reduced from 150,000 to 100,000 hryvnias.
This means that from this point on, transfers made using not only card numbers or phone numbers but also those executed using IBAN details will be taken into account. However, the restrictions will not apply to cash withdrawals, purchases, utility payments, or transfers between one's own accounts. To make a transfer that exceeds the established limit, clients will need to provide documentary evidence of their income or involvement in volunteer activities.
'In order to be able to transfer larger amounts from bank to bank, one must provide the bank with documents confirming the source and size of income,' said PrivatBank representatives.
Memorandum on Reducing Limits
It is worth noting that this decision by PrivatBank corresponds to a memorandum signed by Ukrainian banks. According to this document, starting from June 1, 2025, the limits on monetary operations for 'medium' and 'low risk' clients will be reduced from 150,000 to 100,000 hryvnias per month. Meanwhile, for 'high risk' clients, the limit will remain unchanged at 50,000 hryvnias per month.
Specifically, this is how the bank plans to comply with the memorandum agreement and introduce new restrictions on transfers to enhance the financial security of clients.
